Firstly i must say that I'm not an expert and that's why i thought of writing this review as i have around 7 years of experience in this field. I will try my best to keep the information accurate in this article. And if i do get anything wrong than you are free to criticize. Here is what i have inferred from blogger and wordpress in terms of performance, popularity and ease of use.

Blogger came out in 1999. It was know as an automated web publishing tool that allowed you to update your page frequently with instant result and no cost at all. It was powered by Pyra and was one of the first company to come up with the idea of blogging.
Afterwards it was bought by Google in 2001 and some more features were added.

Now you know something about its background lets start from total number of blogs blogger has. Presently blogger.com is hosting around 314,000,000 blogs. Help and support of wordpress is surely No 1 compared to all other blog hosting companies. It is so fast and accurate that you will never find your self in trouble. They are also very aware of copyrights or any sort of virus infected file. They report you to remove any sorts of file that is not allowed and give you time to perform the action. In mean time you can ask them about the alternative you can take and they reply in instants. So i will give them 8/10 to wordpress in Help And Support.

Wordpress has its own counter so you don't have to look for any other third party for your stats. Also pluggins and widgets for wordpress are much more reliable and neater than blogger. As they are only designed specifically for wordpress.
The draw back of wordpress is that you can't earn money until you don't pay money. That means you have to pay to advertise on your blog. And that is something that made me leave wordpress. Obviously when i can put my ads for free on blogger .. why would i like to pay for adding widgets, editing template and each and everything i perform. So wordpress is not free actually. Its a semi paid company.

The latest feature of facebook offers you to change your profile address with your username instead of that code number. This also results into more privacy from hackers and also very small profile Url that is easy to remember and can be given to others.
Firstly when i created my vanity url, they warned me that it cannot be changed and think before you create one. But now as for some reason they are allowing you to change your url as many time as you want to. Thats very cool but sadly it will cause much more spam.
The ones who have been lazy to choose there username now have the chance to wake up and pick up some creative name. Like the girl who choose facebook.com/default.aspx. Cool isn't it.

I love facebook for the reasons of privacy and ease of use. And facebook is doing pretty well in making new smart applications which are sometimes fun. But honestly somethings like group invites, poking ( The worst of all ) , top friend drama, facebook chat which is sometimes usefull but mostly annoying. Till the service was opened for public. More than 3 million users choose there vanity url in just under 20 minutes. Everyone was looking for a url that matches there name or something that could be sold. But someone decided to be creative enough to make every person on facebook cry for what they missed.
Christine Shipley of San Francisco didn't took her name as her url. She picked her vanity url as " default.axpx" which actually doesn't make sense as the site is in Php format and not is "aspx". But it doesn't either violate there T.O.S and also makes a surprising first impression.
People are also trying to sell there vanity url's. Not something to be surprised as someone has also sold his name "facebook.com/alex". It was sold for $9,999,999 - From Techcruch .
Something fishy about this username is that facebook only allows minimum of 5 digits and this url has 4. How could this happen. Well buisness you can say. It must be some facebook official who would have suggested to make some money out of this new feature. If it is something like this that has happened, than it's a shame for facebook.
